Short version: this site has no forms and asks you for nothing.
Personal data
MaterialSmith does not collect personal data. There is no contact form, no quote request, no account, no newsletter and no login anywhere on this site. We never ask for your name, email address, telephone number or postal address, and we do not sell or pass information to contractors, lead brokers or marketing networks.
The calculators
Every calculation runs in your browser. The dimensions you type are used to produce the result on screen and are not transmitted anywhere, not stored, and not retained after you close the page. Nothing you enter into a calculator ever leaves your device.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies. Aggregate visit statistics are collected with Umami, a self-hosted analytics tool running on our own server at umami.czsaas.com. It records the page viewed, the referring site, the country, the browser and the screen size, all in aggregate. It sets no cookie, stores no identifier on your device, and builds no profile of individual visitors. No advertising or tracking network follows you across other websites.
Outbound links
Some pages link to suppliers and manufacturers. Those links may earn us a commission if you buy something, at no additional cost to you, and this is disclosed where the links appear. Once you follow a link you are on someone else's website, under their privacy policy and their tracking practices, not ours.
Server logs
Like any website, incoming requests are recorded in standard access logs (IP address, timestamp, requested page, browser user agent) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are not used to identify individuals or to build advertising profiles.
Who is responsible
The site is published and operated from France, which means European data protection law applies to the little data described above. The publisher can be reached by post at MaterialSmith, 69 Rue du Rouet, 13008 Marseille, France. Because the site holds no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to look up, correct or delete on request.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. That date tells you which version of this policy applies today.
